robot karaoke: april 2026

dear friends, foes and neutral observers,

i'm back from london, where i tried to warn the british of the global karaoke crisis: songs are getting too easy to sing, and if we don't act now to make them harder, we could have a second beatlemania on our hands.

we have two shows coming up this month:

• wednesday, april 15th at 9:30pm at caveat NYC is the bureaucracy-themed tax night show with special guests maddy varner, jackie liu, richard lewei huang and april soetarman! with normal hosts, me and jenn
• friday, april 27th at 8pm at the elysian theater in LA is the normal monthly show with unshakably normal host, will ruehle

some new text datasets added this month:

• artworks from the v&a museum
• text messages that i have personally replied to with the word "stop" or "end"
• questions from zhihu, the chinese equivalent of quora
• the lyrics to billy joel's 'we didn't start the fire'
